Cops continue probe in businessman’s kidnapping
POLICE are still searching for a Maraval businessman to assist them in the brief kidnapping of St James businessman Terry Kadoo on Saturday. “We have no leads to his whereabouts and investigations are still going on,” a senior officer said yesterday. Kadoo, 35, was held and pushed into a car at gun-point by three men shortly after leaving his Brunton Road, St James air-conditioning establishment on Saturday morning. After a report, police arrested two men at Celestine Trace, Maraval in a car hiding with Kadoo lying on the seat. Police later went to a Maraval businessplace where they arrested a third person. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of the owner of the businessplace whom it is believed organised the kidnap.
In an unrelated matter, St Joseph police are confused over a kidnapping report yesterday that allegedlyy took place at Grand Central Recretation Club on Southern Main Road, Curepe. According to reports, a 27-year-old man of Cocorite was leaving the club around 2.45 am yesterday when he was bundled into a car which was driven away by another 27-year-old Curepe man. Several efforts to interview the family of the alleged kidnap victim failed to produced any information, because he is wanted by the police. Similarly, associates of the alleged kidnapper refused to talk about the man who is suspected to have been involved in two kidnappings at Sangre Grande and Caroni earlier this year. “All we have is the alleged victim was owing money, so some men took him in a car and took away his phone and gold chain,” police said.
