Another beach suicide

LESS than 12 hours after the decomposed bodies of 11-year-old Stephanie Boodram and her lover Jairam Baldeo 24, were found hugging each other close to the Galera Point, Toco lighthouse not far from the beach, apparent victims of a suicide pact, another body was found, this time a male, on the Manzanila beach. Also a suicide victim. The body, that of a person of  East Indian descent was not however identified and police are asking for anyone with information to come forward and speak to them.

According to information, around 6 pm on Monday, following a report police went to a spot on the Manzanilla beach in the vicinity of the Manzanilla Beach resort where they found the body of an unconscious man frothing from his mouth with a bottle of lanate poison nearby. The man in his mid 20’s who bore no form of identification was rushed to the Sangre Grande Disctrict Medical Facility where he died an hour later. Boodram and Baldeo were found around 9.30am the said morning. The stocky-built man is about 5'6'' tall, weighs about 170 pounds, is dark brown in complexion, wore a grey coloured short pants, a blue vest, slippers on his feet and carried a grey coloured knapsack.

Anyone with information as to whom the man is, has been asked to contact the Manzanilla police post at 668-2062. Cpl Pierre of the Manzanilla Police Post is investigating. In an unrelated matter following an annonymous call, Morvant police found the body of a male with a lone gunshot wound to his head around 4 pm yesterday in a house at Calvary Hill, Morvant. The man of mixed decent was fully clothed, somewhere in his mid 20’s, bore no distinguishing marks, dark brown in complexion, approximately 5' 6'' tall and was not identified up to press time. Police are asking for anyone with information to contact the Morvant Police.
