London: $17M to rebuild Tobago

TOBAGO House of Assembly Chief Secretary Orville London yesterday said approximately $17 million would be required to repair the destruction caused last week by Hurricane Ivan. London said repair works were ongoing and funding for these activities cannot be borne by the THA alone. He added that rebuilding efforts in Tobago have to be “a joint effort” between the THA and central Government. Prime Minister Patrick Manning promised that Tobago would receive whatever relief it needed from the central Government.
