Kidnap-accused threatens to kill child

A WOMAN who is out on bail and who is before the court with two others on a charge of kidnapping, is now being kept under surveillance by police after she allegedly made threats to kill the two-year-old son of a man during a heated argument at a bar. According to police sources, the incident occurred around 9 pm Thursday at a Marabella bar, where the 22-year-old former female schoolteacher was working as a waitress.

The San Fernando man, who police said regularly patronises the bar, immediately went to the station where he reported the incident. The woman also went to the station where she apologised to the man in the presence of policemen. However, she reportedly denied making any threats towards the infant, but said the man made derogatory remarks towards her. The man subsequently accepted the apology and decided not to pursue the matter. The Vistabella woman was reportedly fired from the bar later that night. Marabella police are continuing investigations.
