Trini girl missing

When Keith Seaton allowed his daughter Tanika to visit her mother in the United States, he had every expectation of having her back home before the end of the school vacation. However, the concerned father is now left with many unanswered questions as his daughter is not back in Trinidad and he has no idea of her whereabouts in the US. When Tanika was about one-year-old, her mother, migrated to the US, leaving Seaton to take care of their daughter. It was only about a year ago, Seaton married another woman, the mother of his other three daughters, that he began hearing from Tanika’s mother again. She reportedly began asking Seaton if Tanika could visit her for a vacation. Not wanting to deny his daughter the opportunity of seeing her mother, Seaton obliged.

He is now claiming his daughter has been kidnapped, as she claims she is being held against her will in the US. He said when he spoke to his daughter on the pre-independence weekend, “she seemed distant, and not herself.” He added that it was then her mother told him she was not sending Tanika back to Trinidad. Tanika, a student at the Arima Girls’ RC School, was taken to the US by a friend of the mother, with one of Tanika’s cousins. When Tanika’s cousin came home without Tanika, Seaton said he knew something was wrong. Seaton claims the mother’s family has also changed their phone number, so there is now no way of contacting them. The concerned father has also contacted the US Embassy. He was told he should seek a lawyer to rectify the situation. Seaton is pleading for any help in bringing his daughter back home.
