Second fire victim dies

Nagasar Henry, 36, a close relative of Radha Ramsaran, the woman he allegedly set afire on Carnival Sunday night in Lopinot, succumbed to his injuries and died Sunday night. He had sustained over 90 percent burns to his body. Following  several years of abuse and a confrontation on the Sunday night where he reportedly slapped Ramsaran while she was with another man, the labourer waited at the couple’s Surrey village home in Lopinot and, as she arrived next morning, he ran to the car and doused her with gasoline. Sati Singh, pregnant niece of Ramsaran was also burnt in the process and has since lost her baby. She is currently warded at the intensive care unit at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital in a critical condition. Ramsaran was cremated last Thursday after a funeral service at her home.
