Criminal mind busy in our midst

Minister of National Security Martin Joseph noted that crime has reached critical proportions and the criminal mind is busy right here in our  midst. Minister Joseph was speaking at the Passing Out Parade of Regiment Recruits at Teteron Barracks on Friday. The Minister also noted that a collaborative effort among all arms of our law enforcement and security agencies, is now the ultimate defence strategy in the relentless drive against crime. He told the graduating recruits, “you young men must see your role as extending beyond the traditional fighting role of the military to embrace internal security concerns.

“In this respect, continuing collaborative efforts and teamwork with the police service constitute one of the fundamentals of our strategy, and are set to continue in the future,” said Joseph. He noted that it is true that the police service and the regiment have different cultures but this should not be considered a hindrance to effective teamwork. Joseph said that joint patrols have proven itself to be a success and Government is working in close collaboration with the leaders of the Defence Force, who are giving full support to this vision of transformation through cooperation.
