The perfect brows for your face

EYEBROWS ARE usually the most neglected part of the face, yet they are the most important feature. They tell people a lot about you. When they are properly tweezed or groomed, they help to balance facial features. They draw attention to the eyes like a picture frame for the eyes. However, most people do not take the time to find the right shape for their face. If they are improperly tweezed they draw attention to themselves. They can give the face an unbalanced appearance and can make you look like a character from a comic book. Groom your eyebrows and you will look well-polished. Before we begin, you need to know your brow anatomy so we are speaking the same language. The diagram of the brow anatomy goes as follows:

Point A: The inner corner and start of brow
Point B: The brow peak or arch
Point C: The Tail, this is where your brow ends.

The five basic brows
There are five basic brow shapes with many variations. Each one will give you a totally different look and will actually change the appearance of your other features.

Round: This shape softens the face, literally adding roundness and helping to tone down sharp features such as a pointed chin.

Angled: The high, sharp peak draws onlookers’ eyes upward giving a youthful appearance. It can also help slim a round or diamond face.

Soft angled: Similar to the angled but with a softer and subtler peak giving the face a more feminine look.

Curved: This is a flattering shape which projects a feeling of confidence and professionalism. It works very well on a square or oval face.

Flat: Perfect for those with long faces. The horizontal lines of this brow make the face appear shorter and more oval.
Choosing the correct brow shape for your face can make or break your whole look. Here are some guidelines for choosing the right brow shape for your face:

The round face
The best brow for this face type is angled with a high arch and a short tail. The shape makes the face look longer and slimmer. Take care not to angle the brow too steeply or it will just draw attention to the roundness of your face. The worst brow for a round face is a round brow.  This shape just mimics the shape of the face and makes it look even rounder.

The long face
The best brow for those with long faces are flat and horizontal, which make the viewer’s eye look side to side rather than up and down, thus making the face appear more oval. The worst brow would be an angled brow with a high arch and a short tail. This will just exaggerate the length of your face.

The square face
The best brow for the square face is angled with a sharp peak or curved with a sharp peak to focus attention away from a square jaw and balance the face. A delicate, rounded shaped won’t balance a strong jaw. This is the worst shape to go with for a square face.

Heart-shaped face
Best for a heart-shaped face is rounded to “soften” the point of the chin. The worst brow would be a flat horizontal brow which does nothing to counterbalance the point of the chin.

Diamond-shaped face
An angled brow or a curved brow with a peak will “narrow” your wide cheekbones and temple and give your face another focal point. A round brow is also a good choice since it will bring softness to an angular face like the diamond shape. The worst brow for this face type would be a flat brow which will make the face appear unflatteringly short. It will draw attention to the sides of the face which will make a wide face appear even wider.

Oval face
A softly angled brow would be best the worst brow choice would be one that is too highly arched, since this will give your face a look of permanent surprise or anger. Take the time to reflect on your face shape and the brow that would enhance the beauty of the face with which you were born. It is important for you to be well informed when you visit your esthetician so that you can have an idea of what brow shape would work best for you and are not stuck with a shape that is totally unflattering.
