Lou Hing wins women Coca-Cola golf
She beat Martine de Gannes after two playoff holes on Sunday. Lou Hing and de Gannes started the day as part of a three-way tie with Anneke Ward.
And de Gannes, the top local woman golfer last year, wasted little time in establishing her superiority and separating herself from the group opening a four stroke lead after the first nine holes, and holding that lead until the 14th hole.
Lou Hing staged a remarkable come back in the space of two holes, hitting a birdie on the 15th hole and had a par on the 16th.
She had some help from de Gannes who had a five on the 15th and eight on the 16th, dropping six shots and giving Lou Hing a one stroke lead.
De Gannes again displayed her prowess stroking herself back in the game with pars on the 17th and 18th to force the play off.
Both women carded a second day 80, for a two day total of 157.
The playoff went to the second hole, with Lou Hing coming out the winner for the first time in her career.
Aleema Jack finished third with a score of 78 on the second day and 159 overall.
