HDC home for the holidays

Young had applied five years ago to the HDC and was given a two-bedroom apartment in September.

However, her elation was short-lived upon learning that her children could not stay in the same room because they were of different sexes.

The HDC stipulates that children of different sexes should not share a bedroom. Hotline referred Young’s case to the HDC. On November 29, Young told Hotline she was given a “wonderful three-bedroom apartment” in Edinburgh South, Chaguanas.
