Police have been tightlipped on the details surrounding the gruesome discovery which was reportedly made by Jarrette’s housekeeper. Jarrette lived at Pine Hurst, Fairways, Maraval.
The housekeeper found her in the house at about 9.30 pm. Jarrette was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.
An autopsy was conducted at the Port-of-Spain Hospital Mortuary but an official cause of death is yet to be determined.
Up to late yesterday relatives were reluctant to speak about her death. A source told Sunday Newsday Jarrette had only just returned from a New York trip where she went shopping for photographic equipment for one of her co-workers. Sources also told Sunday Newsday that Jarrette was often in a depressed mood. Sources said Jarrette also suffered from a heart condition.
