They sang, now you vote

Adafih Padmore and Erica Samuel advanced to the next round from the La Joya auditions and so did Claudia Johnson and Naomi Gabriel from the Chaguanas audition. The female performers got the public’s nod of approval via thousands of votes over the Digicel network and are now into the final round of the competition.

Padmore, a singer with the Lydian’s choir, wowed everyone with a jazz tune, while Samuel got the thumbs up with a popular R&B song from “Sent from Heaven”. Gabriel and Johnson were not to been outdone, each delivering memorable renditions of R&B artist Keisha Cole’s ‘Love’ and Celine Dion’s ‘Think Twice’. This week the San Fernando auditions which air on both TV6 on Sundays at 7.45 pm and Gayelle Mondays at 10 pm, give the public the chance to vote for their top two South favourites. The San Fernando auditions were held at the end of April and the Digicel Rising Stars judges Simone Harris, Michael Salickram, and Johnny Gonsalves had a hard time selecting, a final, ten stage performers from over 150 hopeful contestants that came to try out.

“Over the last two years it has been hard to whittle down the numbers and separate the best of the best and it was no different this year,” said Johnny Gonsalves, entertainment manager and Digicel Rising Star judge for the past two years, “the women have been particularly outstanding during the auditions but we look forward to seeing which of the top ten performers from each audition the public ultimately choose to go through to the final shows”.
