Kesica, Amanda top Chamber Duet class

Kesica Brewster and Amanda Manmohan pleased adjudicator Dr Richard Tang Yuk with their tune of choice, “Six Hungarian Dances” by Bela Bartok. He complimented them on their excellent ensemble playing and awarded them first place in class with 87 points.

Second place in the Chamber Music Duet Class went to Kezia Douglas and Aiesha Clement on clarinets.

In the Chamber Music Trio Class first placed Flabej with 87 points played Beethoven’s “Trio in C Major” while second placed TTBSO (Trinidad and Tobago Steel and Brass Orchestra) played “Bugler’s Holiday” by Leroy Anderson.

The children of Blackman’s Private School delighted the adjudicator and audience alike with their sheer enthusiasm and joy in creating music “making a joyful noise” with African and Asian drums, gaining 90 points in the process.

The Wind and/or Brass Ensemble Class was won with 87 points by the TTBSO and their tune of choice, “Paquito” by Andy Scott.

In the Steel Pan Chamber Ensemble Class Trinity All Generations gained 90 points with their very lively rendition of “Dance of the Tumblers” by Rimsky Korsakov, arranged for pan by Malaina Moffett.

However, in the Instrumental Ensemble Class, the highest marks of the evening were awarded to Holistic Chamber Ensemble with their tune of choice “Moanin” by Bobby Timmons.
