Latapy Secondary wins poster competition
A corporate social responsibility initiative by Angostura Limited, the poster competition required Forms 4 and 5 secondary students from the Laventille/Morvant area to create their dream eco-friendly home using eco-friendly designs that must be realistic and use as many environmental or “green” initiatives as possible. Both individual and group entries were allowed. The competition was judged by Vidia Persad-Doodnath, executive director, technical services at Angostura Limited and Cheryl Blanc of Horizons Art Gallery.
Russell Latapy had two individual entries with the winning poster and replica of the eco-friendly house made by Moesha Benjamin and guided by her art teacher, Kern Pierre. Success Laventille Secondary had two group entries and one individual guided by Mrs Boodasingh and M. Griffith. The prizes for Most Creative and the use of Most number of Green Elements were won by Success Laventille. All students who participated received an LLB hamper from the company.
