Illegal hunting proceeding apace

I live in an area close to the forest and hunters roam the surrounding areas and private property at will. Forget about the so-called confidential hotline 800 HALT which we are supposed to call to report this activity. It rings once and then goes to dead air.

We have agouti and manicou and beautiful iguanas for which we have tried to create a safe space. Instead we are left with men with guns and packs of dogs roaming our land and no recourse, for to confront them is to take our lives into our hands.

As for the hunting lobby, I want to say to the hunters you are criminals and killers and hunting should be banned entirely since you are unable to police yourselves. I have no sympathy for you.

Minister, do something. For once in this country can we enforce the law and make something work?
