Francois quits ILP
“I hereby submit my resignation from the ILP and my position as South-West Regional Co-ordinator with immediate effect,” said Francois in the letter. He said the recent death of a family member plus commitments with academic pursuits have made it difficult for him attend to party matters as in the past.
“As a former candidate in the 2013 Local Government Election and member of the Party Executive I would like to thank you for the opportunities presented.
“Kindly remove my name from the membership listing of the party. I wish you all the best in the future,” he concluded. Francois has vied for a seat on Point Fortin Borough Council in 2013.
Junior Francois is not the same person as Dwayne Francois the ILP member who brought a lawsuit against the Government over the controversial Constitution (Amendment) Bill 2014.
Meanwhile, the ILP executive committee on Sunday last held its last meeting for 2014 at the party’s headquarters in Port-of-Spain. At that meeting the membership of four persons on the executive was revoked for missing three consecutive meetings including Francois, Jeremy Jagroopsingh, Latchman Ramrattan and Dr Harold Lutchman.
These vacant positions shall be filled at the party’s next executive meeting scheduled for Saturday January 10.
