PCA clarifies meaning of ‘precepted’

During the PCA’s meeting on Wednesday with the Joint Select Committee (JSC) of Parliament enquiring into the operations of the PCA, the Authority’s Director David West said that PCA investigators needed to be “precepted.” The PCA, in a press release yesterday, said that “precepted” in the context used, referred to the provision of powers, authority, privileges and immunities of a police constable which features in the amendments to the PCA Act as proposed in the PCA’s third and fourth annual reports which have been laid in Parliament.
