Explosion rocks east Trinidad

Regiment officials had to apologise yesterday to those affected by the disposal, as they said they did not expect the explosion to be so powerful. At about 11 am yesterday, people along the East-West corridor began making reports of hearing an explosion followed by vibrations that rattled the roofs of their homes.

Chairman of the Sangre Grande Reigonal Corporation Terry Rondon told Newsday he also felt the effects of the explosion at his office.

Immediately after the explosion, the Corporation began investigating the source and potential effects.

Newsday understands that so far, no damage has been reported as a result of the explosion.
