An artistic awakening

Here the artist speaks extensively about her work: “The Almighty and Supreme God who lives within me and in all human beings is the well-spring of my work. It is from this Divine Life that everything flows. It is in this, all human beings find their uniqueness and through this, we find our strength in unity. Hence my work expresses who I am, my passions and convictions, my love for live, family, people and for God.

“Affected by the skepticism of Modernism, I feel called to expose, confront and challenge truth. Greatly influenced by the Renaissance period of Revival of the 14th-16th Centuries, I feel responsible to bring a message of hope to a world that is broken, in pain and in need of healing.

The artwork of that era seems to point upward, uplifting the human spirit to some invisible pinnacle. The famous artworks of geniuses like DaVinci, Giorgione, Raphael and Michaelangelo inspire their audiences today as they did some five to seven centuries ago.

“To conclude, I believe we are on the verge of a ‘Prophetic Renaissance’ and that modern artists will play a crucial role in awakening spiritually and a pivotal role in pointing the way.

“I work with acrylics mainly on canvass also on hardboard or any new material I feel inspired to try. I like to explore large surfaces. I love layering as in collages and texturing, the feeling of paint and other materials in between my fingers as I mould and attempt to create relief, rendering my artwork more lifelike and interesting. I am also excited about black and white artwork, hence charcoal, pen and inks are also part of my portfolio.

I am presently experimenting with glass-work. The themes I choose can be current issues, thought provoking, but mostly interpretive and imaginative intended to evoke emotions as well as awaken and inspire the human

spirit.”
