Nerissa takes Miss Queensize title

She emerged victorious at the end of an exciting event which saw keen competition among the 12 plus-size delegates. In addition to the main title, Nerissa also won the Most Dedicated and Most Supportive trophies.

Also in winner’s row was first runner-up Adina Pollard-Simon, who also copped the title of Miss Intelligence along with awards for Best Casual Wear, Most Promising Singer and Best Hairstyle. Second runner-up Gale Jordan won awards for Best Introductory Speech and Best Monologue.

Third runner-up was Sharon Harvey, while Rachael Baptiste was the fourth runner-up.

Chamel LeMaitre was adjudged Miss Photogenic and got prizes for Perfect Attendance, Best Evening Gown, Best Complexion and Best Make Up.

Renate Mejias won Miss Congeniality and Most Entertaining Performer. Monelle Cordice won the award for Best Smile and was declared Miss Personal Style. Cherise Burke got the awards for Best Singer and Best Talent.

During the pageant, the delegates made their first appearance on stage in outfits by Contours Fashions and did a dance choreographed by Nikeisha Ramlal. Patrons applauded as the delegates danced to “Heavy T Bumper” by Fay Ann Lyons, “Jep Sting Naina” by Hunter and “Crazy In Love” by Beyonce. They also modelled casual and evening gowns and participated in a question and answer segment.
