What an ugly dog!
One breed, the Mexican Hairless Dog is quite well known.
They have pointed, upright ears, sharp noses and dark coloured skin, which needs protection from both heat and cold.
Less well known are the Peruvian hairless dogs which are now rarely seen in Peru or elsewhere. They are described as gentle, inquisitive and agile.
Chinese crested dogs are quite extraordinary looking. They have hairless bodies with skin that is plain (dark) or spotted. However, they usually have fur on their heads and sometimes on their lower legs and tail. All hairless dogs have a reputation for being good hot water bottles, so very welcome to curl up with their owners in cool weather.
