‘Trini’ Benjai to reappear in court August 5

Charged with assaulting a police officer at a soca fete last December, on the San Fernando Hill, Benjai was told by Magistrate Lisa Ramsumair-Hinds, that attorney Keith Beckles who represented him, had sent a letter to the court which stated that he (Beckles) has difficulty to get instructions from the soca star in respect of the charge.

The magistrate told Benjai to visit an attorney, give him or her written instructions, and sign it as being true and correct. “You must take this matter serious,” Ramsumair-Hinds told Benjai, of Imortelle Avenue, Malabar, Arima.

On December 14 last, Benjai was performing on the San Fernando Hill when he was arrested and charged with using obscene language. He is to reappear on August 5.
