Students charged for robbing cop’s son

TWO form four students of a secondary school in East Trinidad  will appear before a Tunapuna magistrate today  charged with robbing a policeman’s  son and another student. Reports state that on Friday at 8 am, the boy’s father went  to the station and  reported that around 2.45 pm on Thursday while waiting for transportation outside the school two boys approached his son, put their hands in his wallet and robbed him of $2. While the officer was investigating the matter at the school, another boy reported that sometime earlier on Thursday, one of the boys had burned his hand with a cigarette and forced him to hand over $1.

After speaking with the teachers, who described the boys as constant troublemakers, they were arrested and taken to the Tunapuna Police station. Both boys 15, who spent two months at the Youth Training Centre recently because their parents described them as uncontrollable, are from the Tunapuna area. Ag Cpl Hiley laid the charge.
