TTUTA still wearing red

The Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association’s (TTUTA) General Council will meet today to discuss what additional steps will be taken after the start of negotiations between the union and the Chief Personnel Officer (CPO) last week. Speaking with Newsday, TTUTA president Trevor Oliver said teachers throughout the nation were continuing to wear red ribbons as a sign of solidarity while negotiations are underway. Oliver declined to say if the union would ask teachers to strike, noting that he would only be able to reveal what decisions were taken following today’s meeting.
