Cops seize ammo, drugs

A REVOLVER, ammunition, a quanity of drugs and a stolen car were seized during an exercise carried out in Central Division on Tuesday. Officers led by Inspector Burt Raphael, Ag Sgt Ajith Persad and including Cpls Vieurel and Villafana executed a search warrant at a Felicity house and seized a .38 revolver and four rounds of ammunition. The man was taken to the Chaguanas Police Station where he was placed on an identification parade for a series of offences. Officers also executed a search warrant at another Felicity house where they seized a quantity of marijuana and arrested a 25-year-old man.

The same officers then went to Cunupia where they executed a search warrant and arrested a 25-year-old man and seized a Sunny car. The car was stolen in Chaguanas on Monday during a robbery. The man was also placed on identification parade. Officers also arrested a 28-year-old man who was charged with four counts of rape involving a minor. The rape allegedly occured during the past two weeks. Officers also raided a series of drug dens and a roadblock exercise was carried out. Vehicles were searched for arms, ammunition and drugs.
