Eye on the ‘dragon slayer’

This MP rants and raves in the best tradition of a market vendor who has had his zabocas squeezed too hard by a customer and is always able to “buss mark” on his enemy on the other side of the floor.

This MP on being returned to government from opposition some years ago, commandeered multi-million dollar heavy lifting equipment, a crew of government workers and closed off a main street in Port-of-Spain to remove a weather vane in the form of a gothic dragon from the top of an historic building.

The rationale for such action was that it was a campaign promise leading up to the elections in which his party was returned to power, to remove this “evil symbol” which was placed by the then government on the building to “wuk ah obeah” on the country.
