Danielle Jones: My mom says thanks
REIGNING Miss Trinidad and Tobago, Danielle Jones, was moved to tears yesterday during a signing ceremony in Westmoorings to develop a national oncology programme and centre, the latter of which will be based at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex. Jones, a communications officer with the North West Regional Health Authority, said while the centre came too late to help her mother Denyse, (who died last month after a long battle with breast cancer, just before Jones participated in the Miss Universe Pageant in Quito), it would greatly assist in the health care provided to other cancer victims in TT. Struggling to maintain her composure, Jones said she was certain that her mother would be very thankful to see the development of such a programme and centre which were “so long needed in TT. A silent thank you is the greatest thank you you can get. I hear it all the time from my mother. She whispers to me very often,” Jones said.
