TTMF joins forces with blink Vigilance to secure homes

The accomplishment of purchasing a home is also the single largest investment many would make in their lifetime. Nevertheless, online statistics for the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service reveal that in 2013 over 3000 home owners were victims of burglaries, break-ins and larceny; almost ten families affected per day.

While physical items can be replaced; peace of mind is not easy to come by once violated. Since we no longer live in a time where we can go to bed with our gates opened and doors unlocked, the leading lender for residential mortgages in Trinidad and Tobago has partnered with blink Vigilance to give first time home owners a greater sense of comfort knowing that their investment and families are protected.

In just five years, blink Vigilance has become the fastest growing provider of alarm monitoring systems in the country, offering 24/7 service to over 15,000 customers. The new agreement will offer customers of the Trinidad and Tobago Mortgage Finance Company Limited (TTMF) blink Vigilance packages at discounted rates.

At the signing, Executive Vice President of Government and Enterprise Services, Rakesh Goswami, noted, “In 2012, there was an average of 400 incidents of burglaries and break-ins per month. In 2013, this figure encouragingly decreased to an average of 260 and for the first quarter of 2014, it stands at an average of 190 reported cases per month.”

Goswami further noted that while the service is not compulsory for TTMF customers, statistics show that homes with alarm systems are less likely to be targeted.

From monitoring key access points to motion sensing technology and video verification, the service is affordable and flexible enough to fit the needs and budgets of every home owner.

The TTMF and blink Vigilance did a trial run of the package deal in 2013 and according to TTMF’s Chief Operating Officer, Robert Green, “We now have a greater appreciation of the benefits of this security system and the peace of mind of knowing that your home is being monitored 24/7.” TTMF has been in operation for nearly 50 years and the number of first time home owners has increased exponentially over the last decade. This collaboration, according to the Chief Operating Officer, enables the organisation to truly achieve its mission of making home ownership an easy and rewarding experience.

Blink Vigilance customers can rest assured that their homes are secure 24/7 as the company’s dedicated alarm monitoring centre is backed by highly trained professionals. Once an alarm is triggered, the signal is transmitted to the Vigilance Central Monitoring System where operators will alert both the customer and first responders including the Police, Fire Department ambulance and private security if necessary.

On average blink Vigilance responds to at least 15 alarm incidents every hour and while all are not emergencies, interventions in the past have led to arrests, the provision of medical assistance and even chasing away potential miscreants.
