Uneasy truce between taxi drivers and PTRC
THE impasse between protesting Princes Town taxi drivers and the area’s Regional Corporation over the location of a stand, has, for the time being, been amicably resolved. Yesterday, taxi drivers resumed work and were temporarily occupying Cacique Street, while talks continued to find a permanent location for the stand. The taxi drivers initially claimed they were not informed by the corporation of plans to relocate them, but a source attached to the Princes Town police traffic department denied this claim, saying a meeting was held two weeks ago with all parties involved.
