PM comes home tomorrow
PRIME MINISTER Patrick Manning returns home tomorrow morning from Cuba. Manning flew to Havana on Wednesday for a “routine medical analysis” on his heart. The Prime Minister had valve replacement surgery in Cuba in April 1998. Government sources yesterday indicated that Manning will return home tomorrow instead of today as originally indicated. They declined comment when asked how the procedure went, saying only “one person” would have that knowledge. The officials could not say whether or not Manning was able to have a private audience with Cuban president Fidel Castro, as was previously hinted but never confirmed.
