Tobago air bridge running smoothly
WORKS and Transport Minister Franklyn Khan yesterday assured that the Tobago air bridge is functioning smoothly and concerns about sea transport between Trinidad and Tobago will soon be rectified. Speaking with reporters during a break in US/Caricom Open Skies negotiations at the Ministry’s Port-of-Spain headquarters, Khan said: “My understanding is that it (the Tobago air bridge) is working very well. The DC-9 jet is operational and is supplementing the Tobago Express service.
My information from the Secretary of Tourism at the Tobago House of Assembly is that everything is working fine.” The Minister said while a technical team is expected to report to him about a long term solution for the air bridge’s problems, he was “very comfortable with the interim solution.” Khan added that two aircraft from Simba Airlines of the Netherlands will arrive on August 15 and September 15 to provide additional services on the air bridge.
