Shotgun, drugs missing from Mayaro Police Station

Police are investigating the disappearance of illicit drugs and a shotgun from  police custody in Mayaro. Reports are that the drugs had been seized as evidence in a court case. They were exhibited in court three weeks ago and were due to be destroyed, but instead went missing from the old Mayaro Police Station.  The station had been condemned two years ago and abandoned by police who were relocated to Mayaro Post Office, while a guard remained as sentinel at the station. The shotgun went missing from the property room of the new police station. The gun was lodged with the police after the death of its owner two years ago.
