OK for Muslims to give gifts
Where is their authority? Muslims must know that whatever is lawfully given without being greedy for it and without asking for it is a gift. It is lawful to accept a gift otherwise the person giving the gift will suffer mental agony.
Among the members of the Islamic Brotherhood, gifts and presents are the things which make firm the cement of the grand superstructure of unity.
Gifts remove enmity and malice.
Gifts cannot be revoked except between fathers and sons.
Gifts must be returned with gifts as they cement love.
Prophet Muhammad accepted gifts and gifts were returned by him. He said gifts should be sent to one another because a gift removes hatred. He also said to send gifts to one another because it removes rancour from the heart.
Muslims must not only listen to elders and preachers but find out the truth from reading.
May Allah bless us all, guide and protect us this year and have mercy on us to do the right thing.
