Two killed in South

Glen Bissoon, 53, was stabbed to death inside his house at Bourganvilla Drive, Debe, at about 1.30 pm by a 23-year-old relative. Police investigators said that both relatives lived together in the house and preliminary investigations revealed that Bissoon’s pleas for the relative to end his dependence on drugs cost him his life.

According to a police report, Bissoon recently returned from Canada where he lived with his wife and daughter. He had been trying to rehabilitate the relative who had a drug problem, the report stated, and decided to return to Trinidad.

In the other incident, Alvarez St Rose, 86, of Enid Village, was discovered by relatives covered in blood in his home. His body was riddled with bullets and according to a police report, the elderly man was asleep when he was shot dead at about 3 am yesterday.

According to the report, when the gunmen left, a relative discovered St Rose lying dead in bed. Police believe the shooting stemmed from an incident in a pub in Rio Claro on Friday night where one of St Rose’s relatives was involved in an argument.

Rio Claro Police are investigating.
