Vandamme win by four in Southern cricket

Robin Ramraj scored 53 to lead Vandamme to 147 for eight wickets in their 20 overs of the Champions Division.

Apaches on 143 for nine needed four runs for victory in the final over of the match but lost their last wicket on the first ball.Vijay Sports with ex-Trinidad and Tobago all-rounder Mahadeo Bodoe in their line-up, won both their games.

Bodoe hit a brilliant 55 to lead Vijay Sports to a six-wicket victory over All Apaches.

After bowling out All Apaches for 132 with Bodoe’s brother Dr Chandradath Bodoe claiming three wickets for 20 runs and Ramjattan Gangadeen three for 15, Vijay Sports reached 133 for four with Daveanand Roopnarine also scoring 55.

Vijay Sports later thumped Karran Sports by seven wickets with Dr Bodoe taking four for 13 to bowl out the opposition for 103, to which Vijay replied with 104 for three led by Kiran Buchoon 34.

Harmony Hall Youths won a one-wicket thriller in Division One, beating Marabella United.

Teddy Ramai scored 49 and Reynold Basdeo 41 in the Marabella team’s 168-run total only for Harmony Hall to reply with 170 for nine led by Michael Baboolal with 42.

Amateurs batsman Vickey Choon hit a brilliant 135, the highest individual score to date this season, in leading his team to 240 for eight and a 39-run victory over La Romain All Stars who reached 201 for eight in reply when overs ran out.

In the La Romain innings, Brandon Maharaj missed a century. He was out for 95.

In the Parkway Pharmacy-sponsored Twenty/20 league, Perry Prout hit a fine 114 but could not prevent his team Green Arrow from being beaten by 15 runs by Star Wars.
